Welcome to the Sporting Image: Original Artwork website, the creative artwork of Vaughn Marxhausen.

Vaughn Marxhausen was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and became involved in art at the age of 5. His father, Benjamin Marxhausen, a college art professor, began his teaching process. Vaughn went to College in Irvine, California and graduated with a degree in studio art and physical education.

Vaughn's love for sports and fitness led him to a career in the fitness industry, while his art stayed as a way to relax and a personal past time.

In 1996, Vaughn took the process used for cartoon cells and created his own style and came up with SportCells. His works are displayed on this website, for you to view as well as purchase. Be sure to visit the SportCell Theme page to view the pieces that are available for purchase.

You will also see wood sculptures created from the designs of the SportCells. These sculptures create a very dramatic 3 dimensional look.
